Donors play a very special role in our work with the children we support. It costs about $450 per year for a child’s education. This amount includes tuition, uniforms, books, exam fees, etc., and costs rise as the children progress to higher grades. Donations help us with these costs and 100% of the donations for education go into a pool where they are used solely for the children’s schooling.

Many of our donors delight in corresponding with the children and have developed thoughtful and caring connections. Home schoolers in Duncan help with fundraising for the young students, a grade1-2 class in Campbell River exchanges letters with the SBCH children. Donors have also contributed in many other ways: sponsoring a trek for the children, buying solar cookers, providing sports equipment, art supplies and musical instruments.

Some of the children have finished high school and are continuing with vocational or professional training.  Further education in Nepal is surprisingly expensive.  We have set up a fund that assists youth in pursuing suitable careers so that they are able to be independent. We welcome your support to help these up and coming adults achieve their goals of self-sufficiency.
